No contest Tuesday in 4th Congressional District

Voters will not select a candidate until the general election for the 4th Congressional District seat.

Incumbent U.S. Rep. Steven Palazzo is unopposed in the Republican primary, but he will have competition for the general election.

Mark Gladney of Gulfport, a manager at PHI Inc. and a pilot, is running as a Democrat. Like Palazzo, Gladney also is a veteran.

Richard Blake McCluskey of Hattiesburg, who has twice run for the state House of Representatives, is running as a Libertarian.

Also in the race is Shawn O'Hara of Hattiesburg, running as a member of the Reform Party. O'Hara has run multiple times for governor, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives and Hattiesburg mayor. He also has run for state treasurer.
