New poll shows Reeves leads Presley on the MS Coast. Do you agree? Vote here
A new poll released Thursday shows incumbent Gov. Tate Reeves leads Democratic challenger Brandon Presley by 8 points with one month until the election.
Reeves’ biggest support came from the Mississippi Coast.
He leads Presley by 25 points in the six coastal counties, according to a poll by the Magnolia Tribune and Mason-Dixon Polling.
The poll surveyed 625 registered Mississippi voters between Sept. 27 and Oct. 2. It found 51% of voters said they would likely vote for Reeves, 43% would vote for Presley and 6% were undecided.
On the Coast, 60% of voters surveyed favored Reeves. Just 35% supported Presley and 5% were undecided.
Reeves’ 25-point lead on the Coast is the strongest of anywhere in the state. He is up by 17 points in Northern Mississippi, 16 points in Eastern Mississippi and 10 points in the Pine Belt, polling showed.
The poll put Presley ahead by 19 points in the Delta and 10 points in the Jackson Metro.
It also showed Reeves’ statewide lead of 8 points had slightly narrowed compared to past polling. In September, a Mississippi Today/Siena College poll showed Reeves leading by 11 points.
The general election will be held Nov,
