10 things to know if you're going to see Trump in Biloxi

BILOXI -- The Coast Coliseum and Convention Center has had just a couple of weeks to put together plans for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's appearance at 7 p.m. Saturday but the work is coming together. Executive Director Matt McDonnell expects to have all the plans finalized Wednesday but here are 10 questions about the event he can answer now so those wanting to attend can plan ahead.

1. How many tickets have been sold?

No idea. First of all, they're free and (the Trump campaign is) handling the distribution and I haven't gotten that number yet.

2. What is the capacity of the building?

13,500

3. What is the capacity of the parking lot?

We'll have overflow parking at the Broadwater Golf Course with shuttle service.

4. What will parking cost?

$5

5. What was the biggest crowd ever at the Coliseum?

There have been several 15,000-seat shows in the building over the years. This won't be the biggest crowd. We want people -- for the length of time they're going to be in the building -- we want them to be able to move around and have a little space.

6. Do you have a plan for an overflow crowd?

We're working through that right now. That's one of the points I'll have more information on (Wednesday).

7. What time should people arrive?

We'll be opening the gates early in the day where they can come but the building won't open until a certain time. Originally we said 5 but we might move that up a little bit. Right now we're certainly going to plan for all contingencies.

8. What can they bring?

Regular campaign signs.

9. What won't be allowed?

No signs with sticks. No bags. There will be screening on every door coming through (for weapons and contraband).

10. What time will the event end?

It depends. He normally speaks somewhere around an hour or so and then he works the crowd. It probably won't last more than 90 minutes, but that's up to him.
