U.S. House rejects short-term FISA extension as expiration looms

WASHINGTON - The Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday rejected a short-term extension of foreign surveillance powers sought by President Donald Trump, after support for the measure failed to achieve the two-thirds supermajority needed for passage.
