Woman jumps out of moving car when boyfriend doesn’t let her leave, KY cops say

A woman “threw” herself out of a moving vehicle when her boyfriend tried to kidnap her, Kentucky police said.

The couple got into an argument when the woman found information on her boyfriend’s phone, according to Hopkinsville police. She confronted her boyfriend, police said, and he punched her multiple times in the back of the head.

Deonte Walker-Coleman then forced the woman into sex acts as he held a gun to her head on June 7, police said. He is also accused of applying pressure to the girlfriend’s neck with both hands, causing her to black out and not be able to breathe.

In an effort to get away from the man, she offered to drive him to where his car was located, according to court documents. When they arrived at his vehicle’s location, Walker-Coleman is accused of refusing to get out of his girlfriend’s car.

The woman transported Walker-Coleman back to his home, where he also refused to get out, and again to his vehicle, police said. The woman then noticed she had a flat tire.

Walker-Coleman offered his girlfriend a ride and she accepted, according to court documents. However, police said the man refused to let the woman out of his vehicle until he knew where she was going.

She tried get out of the car when Walker-Coleman would aggressively slam on the accelerator, then the brakes, police said. The woman was forced to jump out of the car to escape.

Walker-Coleman was arrested June 7 and charged with sexual abuse, strangulation, theft by unlawful taking and kidnapping, court documents said. No attorney information was listed.

His arraignment is scheduled for the afternoon of June 9.

Hopkinsville is about a 170-mile drive southwest from Louisville.
