A 29-year-old woman driving her 8-year-old nephew was killed in what Pennsylvania authorities believe was a targeted shooting.

Family members said Imani Naim was dropping her nephew off at a birthday party in Philadelphia on Friday, April 18, when her vehicle was met by a barrage of gunfire, according to WCAU.

Naim had been shot in the head and chest, and she was found on the street beside her vehicle, the Philadelphia Police Department said.

Police said Naim was pronounced dead at a hospital about 20 minutes after she was discovered.

Inspector D.F. Pace told WPVI that 11 shots were fired “from close range” into the front windshield of the car.

Naim, from Delaware, was believed to have been targeted, according to WTXF.

“The amount of times they shot her. She did not deserve it. That was hate. That was hate. She was a good person,” Sadhee Bacon, Naim’s aunt, told KYW.

The child in the backseat was unharmed, police said.

But Bacon said the child is now “traumatized.” She said the boy “heard the shots and dove down to the ground,” WTXF reported.

Police have not identified a suspect in the shooting. A $20,000 reward is being offered to anyone that has information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia police at 215-686-3334.

Family members said Naim was a mother of four and gave birth to boy five months ago, according to WCAU.

“She loved her children. She took good care of them,” Janell Johnson, Naim’s mother, told the station. “She really did. She focused really on her children all the time.”
