A woman is accused of stabbing her husband multiple times before driving off into a lake, Michigan police said.

Police said they believe she intended to kill her 47-year-old husband the morning of March 26.

The man told Roscommon County deputies he was stabbed by his wife before she drove off in the family vehicle, according to Michigan State Police.

He was taken to a hospital in Flint where he underwent surgery.

Officers found the 42-year-old woman after they said she drove into Houghton Lake in Prudenville, police said.

She was taken to the hospital and later to jail, police said. She was charged with felonious assault and assault with intent to murder. Police did not name the suspect or the victim.

Police said the incident is still under investigation.
