An alarm led officers to an accused burglar caught in extremely awkward circumstances, Colorado police say.

Officers searching for the intruder early Feb. 29 discovered the accused burglar sitting on the toilet with his pants down, Lakewood police said in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter.

“We had no clue what awaited us this time!” police wrote.

Police initially used a drone to search the property after responding to the alarm.

Bodycam video with the post shows armed officers searching a hallway.

After properly positioning themselves, two officers open a bathroom door to see a man sitting on the toilet with his pants down, the video shows.

“Put your hands up!” an officer shouts. The man puts his hands up, then covers his face as the officer barks commands while an alarm sounds in the background, the video shows.

The officer orders the man to stand and walk forward as he shuffles toward them, the video shows.

The man faces a burglary charge, police said.

Lakewood is about a 10-mile drive southwest from Denver.
