Dad asks son to confirm his big Missouri lottery win. ‘Tell me I’m not hallucinating’
A Missouri father was at a grocery store when he decided to buy a lottery ticket.
As he began scratching his $3 Fruit Loot game ticket, the man could not believe what he was seeing, according to an Aug. 14 news release from the Missouri Lottery.
It appeared as if he had won the game’s top prize of $50,000.
“I took it in and brought it in to my son,” the dad told Missouri Lottery officials. “I was just like, tell me I’m not hallucinating.”
That’s when the man realized his eyes weren’t making up a big win.
“’Dad, you just won $50,000!’” the father recalled his son saying.
With his winnings, the man plans to buy a second car so he and his son no longer have to share one, according to the release. He also plans to pay bills and go on a vacation.
The winning ticket was sold at a Price Cutter Plus in Springfield.
