Fisherman found dead in lake after wife reports him missing, NH officials say
A man who vanished while fishing on a New Hampshire lake has been found dead, officials said.
Allan Schuh’s body was found in Strafford’s Bow Lake on Wednesday, May 10, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said in a news release.
His wife reported him missing the day before when didn’t return home from his fishing trip, according to officials.
Officials said multiple agencies searched the lake for Schuch, who is from Plymouth, Massachusetts, “until dark” on Tuesday evening.
The search resumed on Wednesday morning and was suspended upon finding Schuh’s body “about 15 feet off shore,” officials said.
“Schuh was not wearing a life jacket,” according to officials.
Officials said they are investigating Schuh’s accident.
State law requires that boaters “have a wearable life jacket with them,” officials said.
“In addition, children ages 12 years old and younger must wear a life jacket at all times,” officials said.
Stafford is about 40 miles northeast of Manchester.
