Police are asking for help identifying a hit-and-run driver after five children were struck in a Nashville crosswalk.

On March 19, five children, ages 5 to 10, were crossing the street at an intersection in front of the Nashville Public Library Edgeville Branch, according to an April 20 news release from the Nashville Police Department.

Police shared a surveillance video showing a light-colored sedan was stopped at a red light as the children started to cross the street. The car then started to make a right turn into the crosswalk.

The sedan struck the children before speeding away, the video showed.

Two kids, ages 6 and 9, were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

“Anyone with information on the vehicle or driver involved is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463,” police said in the release.
