Twin sisters were shot to death in a home by one of their sons, according to a Georgia sheriff’s office.

The sisters, Ruth and Ruby Newberry, 57, were found dead in the bedroom of a home in Gainesville just before 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 21, according to a news release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Ruth Newberry’s son, Andrew Newberry, 24, was found dead in the living room with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the release says.

Police say the son shot his mother and aunt before shooting himself.

The bodies of Ruth and Ruby Newberry are undergoing autopsies, the release says. Obituaries for the women could not be found online.

Gainesville is about 60 miles northeast of Atlanta.
