No more McRib? When to get one as McDonald’s teases ‘farewell tour’ for beloved meal
The McRib is returning to McDonald’s for what could be the last time.
For a limited time, the “BBQ pork sandwich perfection” is available to order for pick-up or delivery on the McDonald’s app starting Oct. 31 through Nov. 20, according to the restaurant’s website.
However the fast-food giant hinted that this could be the McRib’s last hurrah, suggesting that the popular sandwich will be phased out after this year.
“Get one while you can because this is the McRib Farewell Tour,” the product listing reads. “Enjoy our famous pork sandwich as if it’s your last!”
McClatchy News reached out to McDonald’s for comment Monday, Oct. 24, and was awaiting a response.
The meal made its debut in 1981 and features a boneless pork patty dipped in tangy barbecue sauce, according to McDonald’s website. The sandwich is also served with sliced onions and pickles atop a toasty homestyle bun.
With the McRib’s rumored exit, some fans hoped it would make room for the return of other menu favorites.
“Good! But while we’re talking about bringing things back, how about you bring back the original chicken selects?,” one person wrote on Twitter.
