Watch trapped deer turn into growling beast when Georgia men try helping it
Some of the most terrifying noises heard in the dark may be coming from deer, judging from a video posted by the Georgia Wildlife Resources Division.
It shows two men working to rescue an eight-point buck after its antlers became hopelessly entangled in someone’s backyard hammock.
The 2-year-old buck fought them the entire way and resorted to bellowing like an angry bear in hopes of being left alone.
It happened in September, and the rescuers were Urban Wildlife Program staffers in Fulton County, according to an Oct. 9 Facebook post.
The video shows one of the men was forced to wrestle the buck to the ground like a wild bull, then sat on its back to keep it penned. That allowed his partner to cut the hammock strings.
It’s during this critical point in the rescue that the buck let loose with snorts, growls and bellows that echo through the trees.
The rescuers ignored the verbal threats and managed to free the buck in just about a minute. It is last seen scrambling into the woods after the men jumped clear.
However, the hammock did not survive the ordeal.
The Urban Wildlife Program is focused on resolving wildlife conflicts that result from expanding development in the “nine core counties of metro Atlanta.”
