Angry over cigarette prices, man shoots into store, Arizona police say
A man fired a gun into an Arizona convenience store after getting upset about cigarette prices, police say.
In surveillance video released by the Phoenix Police Department, a man can be seen exiting a store at 7th Avenue and Cocopah Street in Phoenix on Wednesday, June 15. Moments later, he turns back and fires into the store using a handgun, video shows.
No one was injured, police said.
Police later found 9 mm shell casings outside the store, the video shows. Officers also examined the outside of the store and discovered a broken window.
“So he shot into the window,” an officer says on the video.
Two days later, June 17, officers arrested the suspect, Gregory Boston, police said.
Boston was booked on one count of aggravated assault, two counts of discharging a firearm in city limits and one count of possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, according to jail records. He is being held on $50,000 bail with his next court appearance scheduled for Aug. 4.
