Missing 2-day-old believed to be dead after mom shot, Tennessee cops say. Dad charged
Update: As of late Feb. 2, Memphis police said they didn’t find Kennedy Hoyle, who is believed to be dead. Officials also identified the girl’s mom as Danielle Hoyle.
The missing girl’s father, Brandon Isabelle, is now facing several charges, including first-degree murder. He reportedly told police he lured Danielle Hoyle to the place where she was found dead and threw the girl into water, WMC reported.
“Danielle, she’s missed by everybody,” her mom, April Campbell, told the TV station. “Young folks make mistakes but that wasn’t a mistake. There wasn’t a reason to kill my daughter.”
Original story: A newborn child remained missing on the afternoonof Feb. 2 after her mom was found dead in Tennessee, officials said.
An Amber Alert was issued for 2-day-old Kennedy Hoyle, who police said was last seen with her mother.
The Memphis Police Department said officers spotted her mom’s body near an abandoned car on Feb. 1. The 27-year-old woman — whom officials didn’t identify in a news release — had been shot, according to preliminary information.
As of Feb. 2, police said they were searching for the woman’s young daughter.
Kennedy disappeared from “the area of Sedgewick Drive and Levi Rd in Memphis,” the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation wrote in a Twitter post. Officials reported looking for the missing girl about 12 miles away along Island Drive, near the Mississippi River.
The girl is about 6 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.
“Kennedy was last seen wearing a black and white polka dot onesie with pink pants,” officials said on Feb. 2.
State investigators ask people who have information about the baby to call them at 800-824-3463 or Memphis police at 901-545-2677.
