Watch Tony Hawk surprise this Georgia kid with help from a kind FedEx delivery driver
With bleakness seemingly everywhere during the coronavirus pandemic, it’s refreshing to come across a “feel good” story that can hit right in the feels. With help from a kindhearted FedEx delivery driver, Tony Hawk managed to make the year of a young kid from Georgia.
The story starts cute enough: A young man chases down his friendly neighborhood FedEx driver (Mikail, according to Yahoo Sports) and asks him, what appears to be an impossible favor while handing the driver an old, beat up skateboard.
“He says get this to Tony Hawk for me,” the driver explains in his video posted to Tik Tok. “Tell him it’s from Cooper.”
As we know, with social media these days, NOTHING can be considered impossible.
“The least I could do was put it out in the universe,” he continued. “So Tony, if you see this, Cooper in Suwanee, Georgia is a big fan. Maybe you could give him a shout out and the next time I drive by his house I’ll show him the video and it’ll probably make his whole life.”
The 10-time X Games gold medalist, most known champion skateboarder in the world did a little more than just give a shout out to Cooper.
Not only did Hawk agree to sign Cooper’s skateboard, but he’s also sending the young man HIS own skateboard. In another video Hawk posted, it showed him signing the skateboard with the caption “Heading to Cooper!”
The delivery man even filmed Cooper’s reaction when he returned to his house to share Hawk’s video and give him the good news in person.
Hawk has never been one to shy away from social media and has always been a delight on Twitter, especially when sharing hilarious “hey, has anyone told you that you look like that one skateboarder?” interactions.
While he hasn’t been on Tik Tok very long, if this cute takeway is a preview of more to come, we’ll be sure to tune in to Hawk’s next post.
