South MS player loses on first scratch, then hits the jackpot in second-chance drawing
A player who lost the first time after buying a Mississippi lottery ticket in Biloxi hit the jackpot on a second chance drawing.
The person, who was not identified other than being a resident of Biloxi, bought a $5 Bonus Bonanza scratch-off game at Sai Chevron on Woolmarket Road in Biloxi.
The player entered the ticket in the second chance drawing and won a $100,000 jackpot.
A total of $649,500 was doled out to 10 players in the latest second chance drawings.
A Clinton resident won $200,000 on a a $10 Platinum 7s scratch-off game purchased in Jackson and three other players from throughout the state won $100,000.
A person from Ecru won from $5,000 on a $1 Fat 50s scratch-off game purchased at Wade Station in Moss Point.
The promotional drawings are held throughout the year when one of the lottery games end without all the winning tickets purchased. Those who don’t win on the first scratch can sign the back of their lottery ticket and enter for the second chance drawing.
More than $1 million in second chance winnings await on several drawings, but Jan. 6 is the last dame to purchase a ticket.
