Lottery ticket sold in Ocean Springs is worth $30k. Time is running out to claim it

There’s $30,000 on the line in Ocean Springs, and time is running out.

A winning lottery ticket purchased from Circle K on Bienville Boulevard for the Jan. 17 Mega Millions drawing is worth that much -- but it expires Sunday.

And the player has just over 24 hours left: they can claim it until 5 p.m. Friday.

Several other tickets sold in the state for Powerball and Mega Millions are unclaimed, including a Powerball ticket for the July 8 drawing that is worth $100,000. It was purchased from Keith’s Superstore #107 on U.S. 49 in Saucier but does not expire until Jan. 4, 2024.

The news comes as current lottery drawings are heating up.

Friday’s drawing of the Mega Millions jackpot has now reached estimates of $560 million. The estimated cash value is $281.1 million.

Thursday’s Mississippi Match 5 jackpot drawing is estimated at $55,000.

And the Powerball jackpot is close to $875 million. The drawing is on Saturday.
