Biloxi man wins a hefty Powerball lottery with numbers he’s played since the 1980s

A Biloxi man had lucky lottery numbers, but it took a few decades to prove it.

The Mississippi Coast resident claimed his $50,000 winning Powerball ticket from the Nov. 9 drawing, according to the Mississippi Lottery. The man said he has been playing the same numbers since the 1980’s.

The lucky player purchased his winning ticket from Polks Crossgates Discount on Popps Ferry Road in Biloxi. The $50,000 ticket, which had 4 correct white balls and the Powerball, would have been worth $100,000 if the resident had included the extra $1 for Powerplay.

Powerball drawings take place Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Wednesday’s drawing is worth $30 million with a cash value of $15.3 million.
