A Powerball ticket sold on the Mississippi Coast was one number away from $322M jackpot

The Coast may have Powerball fever, but these residents found their lucky winnings from a number of lottery games and drawings.

A Mobile man is $50,000 richer after playing the same set of five quick pick numbers in five Powerball drawings. He was the only one to hit four numbers and the Powerball in the Oct. 1 drawing, meaning he was one number away from the $322 million jackpot. The ticket was purchased from Miss A1 Market on Forts Lake Road in Moss Point on Sept. 26.

A McComb woman won $10,000 on a $20 scratch off ticket that had a grand prize of $400,000. Since Multiplier Mania’s launch Oct. 4, no one has won the two grand prizes available. The game also still has six $50,000 prizes, seven $10,000 prizes and 16 $4,000 prizes.

Other recent Multiplier Mania winners include $1,000 prizes for residents in Pascagoula, Brookhaven and Grand Bay.

An Ocean Springs resident won $5,000 on a Cash 4 ticket purchased at Neighborhood Store on Ingalls Ave. in Pascagoula. The winner opted to play the combo without the fireball in the Oct. 17 midday game and hit all four numbers out of order. According to the Mississippi Lottery, playing combo allows any order of the winning numbers to collect the prize.

A Gulfport player won $2,500 in the Oct. 28 evening Cash 4 drawing. The ticket was purchased from Clark Oil on Azala Dr. in Waynesboro. A Brookhaven player won $5,000 in the same drawing. Mississippi draws Cash 4 numbers twice a day.
