A Gulfport woman missed a $231 million jackpot by one number. Her consolation prize was a cool $10,000.

The Mississippi Lottery recently announced the Sept. 13 winner who purchased the Mega Millions ticket with a Megaplier. Choosing four of the five correct numbers would have earned the Gulfport resident only $500, but hitting the Megaplier raised the ticket’s value to $10,000.

According to the Mississippi Lottery, the odds of picking four numbers and the Megaplier are 1 in 931,001. Odds of winning the jackpot were more than 325 times that: 1 in 302,575,350.

The winning ticket was purchased Sept. 10 from Clark Oil Company on U.S. 90 in Bay St. Louis.
