A man was killed and his wife were injured when the motorcycle they were riding hit a car Wednesday night in north Harrison County near Saucier.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Chase Elkins said the motorcyclist and his passenger, northbound on Mississippi 67 about 8:20 p.m., hit the left side of a Honda Odyssey that was westbound on East Wortham Road.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said Timothy Wages of Saucier, 41, was riding a Harley-Davidson, Hargrove said. Wages was taken to Garden Park Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:38 p.m.

His wife, the passenger on the motorcycle, was admitted to the hospital with substantial injuries, Hargrove said.

Elkins said both husband and wife were thrown from the motorcycle.

Elkins said the accident is under investigation.
