One dead, three injured in George County wreck

One man is dead following a two-car traffic accident on Mississippi 63 just north of Mississippi 98 in George County, officials said.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Chase Elkins said a northbound 2003 Ford F-250 pickup truck hit another pickup on 63 near Ernest Pipkins Road. Elkins said it appears the second pickup attempted to cross the highway and pulled out in front of the Ford.

The driver of the second pickup died at the scene, Elkins said. His identity has not yet been released.

Elkins said the driver and two passengers in the Ford truck were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
