South Mississippi under dense fog advisory
South Mississippi is under a dense fog advisory until 8 a.m.
At 2 a.m., the National Weather Service advised that a dense fog in the area had reduced visibility to less than a quarter mile.
The fog has developed ahead of a cold front moving into the area.
Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Pike and Walthall counties are affected by the advisory.
Once the cold front moves in, winds should pick up and the fog will lift.
Motorists should take the usual precautions and drive with low beams on and keep plenty of distance between their vehicles and those ahead of them.
