Traffic snarled from crash at U.S. 49, Mississippi 53

GULFPORT -- Traffic has snarled in northbound lanes of U.S. 49 in response to a crash at Mississippi 53, police said.

Sgt. Damon McDaniel alerted the media of the crash at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday. Within 20 minutes, northbound traffic was backed up as far south as Duckworth Road.

WXXV reported that two vehicles were involved, including an overturned truck.

No other details were immediately available.
