Gulfport crash sent two to the hospital, snarls traffic on U.S. 90
GULFPORT -- Traffic was stalled Thursday morning after a crash involving four vehicles on Cowan Road and U.S. 90.
Sgt. Damon McDaniel said a Dodge Dakota was traveling westbound on U.S. 90 when it was hit by a Chevrolet S10 turning from the eastbound lanes. The driver of the Dodge Dakota lost control, traveled across the median and struck an eastbound Toyota Yaris. After the initial collision, the Chevrolet S10 struck a westbound Saab Sedan.
The wreck shut down eastbound lanes from about 9:10 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. as crews worked to remove debris and tend to the motorists.
The drivers of the Dodge Dakota and Toyota Yaris were taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
