Mom in Cowan Road wreck says she and child are OK
GULFPORT -- Northbound lanes of Cowan Road at Magnolia Street were cleared for travel Friday morning after a two-vehicle accident caused a slowdown.
The crash was reported as an accident with injuries about 8:38 a.m. at the foot of the Kremer Bridge.
Police and paramedics responded.
Megan Murray told the Sun Herald she was in the vehicle that was hit.
"The lady who ran the light and hit the driver's side back passenger door went to the hospital, but my 4-year-old and I are OK," Murray said. "We are just a little shook up.
"Thank you to the nurse who was instantly there to get my child out of the car and out of traffic."
Lanes were reopened to traffic within about an hour.
