Update: Crash involving multiple vehicles on I-10 in South MS has been cleared

5:03 p.m.: The crash scene has been cleared and traffic is returning to normal flow.

4:25 p.m.: The left eastbound lane of I-10 in Jackson County is closed after the multi-vehicle crash earlier in the afternoon, according to MHP Trooper Landon Orozco. MDOT estimates it could take up to an hour to clear the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY

A crash involving multiple vehicles, and with injuries, is causing significant delays on Interstate 10 in Jackson County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

At about 3:30 p.m., first-responders were called to the scene on I-10 eastbound near mile marker 59, about two miles east of the Mississippi 57 interchange (Exit 57), said Trooper Landon Orozco, a spokesman for the MHP.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation’s traffic tracker shows significant delays well west of Exit 57. At 4:15 p.m., MDOT estimated it could take up to an hour to clear the scene.
