Update: Stretch of I-10 reopened in South MS after reconstruction of deadly crash

7 a.m.: All westbound lanes of I-10 have reopened after the MHP crash reconstruction, according to MDOT.

6:39 a.m.: All westbound lanes of I-10 are again closed Tuesday morning and drivers are being redirected onto Gautier-Vancleave Road as police perform a crash reconstruction of the incident that left a person killed.

ORIGINAL STORY

All westbound lanes of I-10 were closed for more than two hours Tuesday morning after a fatal crash, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Gautier police notified MHP of the crash around 3 a.m., according to Trooper Landon Orozco, a spokesperson for the agency. It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved or how long the closure of I-10 might last.

MDOT reports the interstate reopened shortly before 6 a.m.
