18-wheeler crash ties up traffic on Interstate 10 in South Mississippi
Jackson County Fire Protection is on the scene of an 18-wheeler crash Thursday on I-10 in Jackson County and the Mississippi Department of Transportation is reporting significant eastbound delays.
According to fire officials, the crash happened around 3:45 p.m. at the Mississippi-Alabama state line. MDOT’s live traffic tracker shows the backup extends for about three miles.
MDOT has updated the time it could take to clear the scene, saying at 4:51 p.m. that it could take up to another hour before normal traffic flow is restored. Officials are advising drivers to avoid the area.
