ORIGINAL STORY
For the second time this week, roadwork just over the state line in Alabama is causing significant delays on Interstate 10 eastbound in South Mississippi, the Mississippi Department of Transportation reports.
The construction project is expected to last all day, MDOT says, with significant traffic backups possible through at least 4 p.m. for I-10 drivers. Monday, the backup cleared around 2 p.m. The state of Alabama reports that the right eastbound lane is blocked and advises travelers to use caution.
MDOT’s traffic map shows congestion of about three miles, from around mile marker 1 in Alabama and extending west of the Franklin Creek Road exit (Exit 75) in Mississippi.
