Update: Crashes, congestion cleared in time for rush hour across South MS
4 p.m.: I-10 is clear, or very close to it, across South Mississippi. There are no reported crashes or significant congestion.
3 p.m.: MDOT traffic cameras are showing problems for eastbound and westbound travelers in Harrison County. The backup at Exit 38 for eastbound travelers begins beyond the exit and stretches to west of the exit. Delays for westbound travelers begin just before Exit 28 (County Farm Road).
1:20 p.m.: MDOT reports the I-10 backup in Hancock County has cleared.
12:45 p.m.: In addition to the delays in Hancock County, eastbound travelers on I-10 are encountering delays in Harrison County. There is a backup before and beyond Exit 38, where one lane is closed for construction.
11:55 a.m.: MDOT is reporting that the congestion on I-10 between Exits 13 and 16 could last for up to an hour. Additionally, there are now lesser delays west of Exit 13.
11:41 a.m.: Another significant delay is slowing eastbound drivers Friday on I-10 in South Mississippi. Traffic is significantly backed up between Exits 13 and 16 near Diamondhead.
10:17 a.m.: MDOT is reporting the crash in Alabama has been cleared and traffic is again moving at full speed on I-10 eastbound.
ORIGINAL STORY
MDOT is reporting that a crash on I-10 just past Exit 1 in Alabama has backed up eastbound traffic into Mississippi.
The crash is expected to cause delays of up to an hour, according to MDOT.
The department’s live traffic tracker is showing significant delays for about four miles and lesser delays nearly to Exit 68 in Mississippi.
