Crash, construction, weather causing delays on roads across South Mississippi

4:37 p.m.: As strong storms roll through South Mississippi, MDOT’s live traffic tracker is showing delays across the Coast. Delays or significant slowdowns are being reported on:

I-10 Westbound

  • Exit 68 in Jackson County, extending for miles
  • Near where the interstate crosses Old Fort Bayou Road
  • Beyond the I-110 interchange
  • Before Exit 38

I-10 Eastbound

  • Beyond Exit 38

I-110 Northbound

  • North of Division Street

U.S. 90

  • Both directions in Biloxi
  • Both directions in Ocean Springs, east of Washington Avenue

Mississippi 57

  • North of Gautier Vancleave Road

ORIGINAL STORY

A crash, construction and bad weather are combining Wednesday to wreak havoc on I-10 across South Mississippi.

Rush-hour travelers are encountering significant delays both eastbound and westbound in Harrison and Jackson counties.

  • MDOT is reporting a crash on I-10 westbound just before Exit 68 has led to the closure of the left lane. Delays are expected to last up to an hour.
  • The MDOT traffic tracker is also showing significant delays in both directions, but no crashes, across much of Jackson County.
  • Additionally, construction near the Lorraine Road exit has led to long delays for eastbound and westbound travlers in Harrison County.
