Update: U.S. 90 in Biloxi the South MS trouble spot after day of crashes on I-10

6 p.m. update: MDOT reports the latest crash on I-10 in Harrison County has been cleared and traffic has resumed without delays. Traffic on U.S. 90 in Biloxi west of I-110 remains heavy, with significant delays in both directions.

4:30 p.m. update: Another crash is slowing traffic on I-10 in Harrison County, according to MDOT. Westbound traffic is backing up after an incident just past Canal Road (Exit 31). MDOT estimates delays could last for an hour.

3:45 p.m. update: MDOT reports the crash on I-10 in Harrison County has been cleared and traffic has resumed without delays. Traffic on U.S. 90 in Biloxi west of I-110 remains stop-and-go in both directions.

2:45 p.m. update: MDOT warns drivers to expect delays after a crash on I-10 eastbound before Canal Road (Exit 31) in Harrison County. Delays are expected to last up to an hour.

1:15 p.m. update: The backups just over the Louisiana border have cleared and there are currently no issues on I-10 in South Mississippi. There are, however, several significant backups on U.S. 90 in downtown Biloxi.

11:15 a.m. update: Westbound I-10 travelers in Hancock County will run into significant slowdowns shortly after crossing the state line into Louisiana, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. The backups begin about one mile into Louisiana and continue through the mergepoint with I-59 and to the mergepoint with I-12.

8:15 a.m. update: MDOT reports traffic is moving on the Pascagoula River bridge and across all of South Mississippi on Interstate 10.

ORIGINAL STORY

A crash Friday morning on the bridge over the Pascagoula River has tied up traffic for holiday drivers in South Mississippi.

MDOT reported at 7 a.m. the right eastbound lane of I-10 is closed before the Jack Hanson Memorial Bridge exit in Moss Point. The state agency estimates that the crash could affect traffic for about an hour.
