An 18-wheeler that overturned Monday morning is causing backups over several miles on Interstate 10, authorities said.

The 18-wheeler crashed near Gautier Exit 61, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation. It said the right westbound lane was blocked at 9 a.m.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Landon Orozco said traffic in westbound lanes is backed up at least to the Moss Point exit. He said tow trucks are headed toward the crash.

Three people were taken to Ocean Springs Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Gautier Police Chief David Bever said. He said police were dispatched at 8:30 a.m. to the Martin Bluff Road overpass and found the semi-truck had run off the road and rolled over. No other cars were involved.

The 18-wheeler was hauling wood siding, Bever said.
