MS Coast drivers should ‘expect major delays’ again on problematic I-10 stretch, agency says

Traffic slowed again Friday as Mississippi Coast drivers slogged through wet roads near an often-congested stretch of Interstate 10 in Harrison County.

Congestion in the westbound lanes stretched from the Kiln Delisle Road exit to County Farm Road, a Mississippi Department of Transportation map showed. The worst traffic appeared near the Menge Avenue exit where construction crews are working on a Buc-ee’s Travel Center expected to open next spring.

MDOT warned drivers to “expect major delays.” The agency said wet roads and rain are slowing traffic. It asked drivers to use caution and prepare to stop.

Just before 1 p.m., MDOT said delays could last at least one hour and 30 minutes.
