UPDATE: The bridge has reopened to traffic, as of 4 p.m.

The Popp’s Ferry Bridge is closed again Sunday afternoon, according to the city of Biloxi.

The city sent an alert at 3:27 p.m. asking drivers to avoid the area, saying the arms of the drawbridge are stuck in the down position.

The bridge has a long history of closures due to mechanical issues. The most recent incident was three months ago, when a “lock malfunction” left the bridge impassable to motorists.
