Traffic alert: I-110 drawbridge stuck in the upright position
The I-110 drawbridge is stuck in the upright position and heavy traffic delays are expected, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
The drawbridge became stuck just after noon and drivers are urged to take alternative routes as all lanes are affected.
“There has been a malfunction on the bridge and it is not yet functional,” according to a spokesperson from MDOT.
There is no timetable for when the issue will be resolved.
“It will depend on what the technician finds,” according to MDOT. “There are electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components to drawbridges and so it may take a little bit of time to diagnose the problem.”
