4-car wreck cleared after semi-truck pulling cows blocked traffic on Jackson County highway

A four-vehicle wreck involving a semi-truck is now cleared after causing lengthy traffic delays on Highway 63 northbound at Saracennia Road in Jackson County.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the multi-truck crash was cleared shortly before noon. The crash happened at 5 a.m. and the roads were blocked for several hours for cleanup. Troopers advised motorists to use alternative routes and said the crash resulted in life threatening injuries.

As of 10:20 a.m., Mississippi Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed a semi-truck skewed diagonally across the highway blocking both lanes as workers attempt to move it.

By 11 a.m., traffic appeared to be flowing again but the semi-truck was still askew on the side of the highway.
