A portion of Interstate 110 in Biloxi will be down to one lane for two weeks. Here’s why
Motorists can expect increased traffic through early August in Biloxi and Ocean Springs as roadwork is completed on Interstate 110
The Mississippi Department of Transportation says the roadwork is near the I-110 drawbridge in Harrison County.
Traffic is down to one lane in each direction so the state can repair a median.
The closure started July 26 and will last until Aug. 9, MDOT said.
Some motorists are trying to drive around the road work. As a result, traffic was noticeably heavier on. U.S. 90 during the 5 p.m. rush hour on Tuesday as motorists attempted to use Mississippi 609 in an effort to get to Interstate 10.
On Wednesday, MDOT warned of “major delays” for 2 hours and 30 minutes near Rodriguez Street and Bayview Avenue, Exit 1D.
During the repairs, motorists are asked to drive slow and be aware of roadside construction workers.
