Biloxi woman identified as victim of two-vehicle crash in D’Iberville, police say

A 60-year-old Biloxi woman died after a two-vehicle crash on Brodie Road at the Goodman Road intersection, where her vehicle then struck a tree, authorities said.

Eva Drummer died at the scene, Harrison County Chief Deputy Coroner Brian Switzer said.

She was not wearing a seatbelt but was not ejected, Switzer said.

The crash occurred about 10:50 p.m. on Brodie Road at the Goodman Road intersection, D’Iberville Police Lt. Jason King said.

Drummer was traveling west on Brodie in a 2001 Ford Taurus when she lost control of her car at a curve, authorities said. The Ford Taurus struck an oncoming 2008 Mercury Mountaineer traveling through the curve.

After the Ford Taurus struck a Mercury Mountaineer, the car then struck a power pole.

Drummer was pronounced dead by an ambulance crew from American Medical Response. The driver of the Mercury Mountaineer was not injured, King said.

Brodie Road was closed several hours from Atwood Drive to Cottage Court.

Damage to the utility pole disrupted electrical power service for some Coast Electric customers, he said.
