Officials at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport will conduct an annual anti-terrorist force protection exercise Feb. 1 through Feb. 12.
Exercise Solid Curtain-Citadel Shield 2016 will take place on all navy installations in the continental United States, officials said.
It is designed to train Navy security forces to respond to threats to installations and units and is not in response to any specific threat.
Exercise coordinators said they had taken measures to minimize disruptions to normal base operations but there will be times with increased traffic around the base or delays in base access. The installation will also be locked down from 8 to 9 a.m. on Feb. 1.
