Pavers honoring veterans will benefit post

American Legion Post 42 in Ocean Springs is sponsoring a fundraising drive to create a Pershing Square in front of the Emile Ladnier World War I monument honoring living and deceased military veterans. Anyone wanting to honor the service of a family member who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine or National Guard since WWI, Post 42 is offering engraved pavers with the name and branch of service. Proceeds will also help refurbish the monument. Remaining money will be given to the city to refurbish all veterans monuments in Ocean Springs. A special price for one or two engraved pavers is being offered through Dec. 31. Order forms are available at the Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Center, or email reckert11@cableone.net or call 875-5233.
