10:30 a.m.: American Legion, 645 Green Meadow Road, Bay St. Louis. Speaker: Cmdr. Kathryn Gift, U.S. Navy. Posting and retirement of colors performed by Bay High School Junior Air Force ROTC. Music by Bay High Tiger band and High Steppers dance team.
11 a.m.: Joe Graham American Legion Post 119 Veterans Day celebration at Jones Park, Barksdale Pavilion, U.S. 90, Gulfport.
11 a.m.: Gautier Veterans Day laying of the wreath ceremony at City Hall. Hosted by American Legion Post 1992. Details: 627-1887.
11 a.m.: Veterans ceremony, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College George County Center in the academic building lobby.
11 a.m.: 15th annual Jackson County Veterans Day Program at Moss Point Veterans Memorial Monument, downtown Moss Point. Speaker: Troy Ross, Jackson County District 4 supervisor. Details: 762-3391.
Noon: Veterans Day ceremony in Veterans Courtyard at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College's Jefferson Davis campus, Gulfport. Gen. Mark Brown, the commander of the 2nd Air Force, Keesler Air Force Base, will speak.
2 p.m.: Veterans Day parade, beginning at Diamondhead Community Garden and traveling to Veterans Memorial Bandstand. Participation open to all veterans and anyone who wants to honor veterans. Golf carts, motorcycles and military vehicles will be featured. Charity bake sale after parade. Presented by VFW Post 2880 and city of Diamondhead. Details: 255-5017.
4 p.m.: Veterans Day Pier Walk at Ken Combs Pier on U.S. 90 at Courthouse Road in Gulfport.
4:15 p.m.: Fallen Soldier 5K Run/Walk at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Perkinston campus; registration at the Bell Tower.
National Park Service Free Veterans Day: Gulf Islands National Seashore, 3500 Park Road, Visitor Center, Ocean Springs. Join national parks across the country in celebrating Veterans Day with free entry into the park. Details: 230-4100.
THURSDAY
6 p.m.: Kress Live is hosting a free concert to all members of the military and it will be headlined by Saliva. Other acts are Whisky Kiss and My Hero the Villain. General admission is $20 at the door for non-military guests and $15 if bought before Thursday. Details: www.kresslive.com.
