VA to host 'welcome home' event

The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System will host a "welcome home" event for veterans who recently returned from Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn.

The event will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the VFW Post 2434, 289 Veterans Avenue.

Services and programs available will include health care eligibility, Veterans Benefits Administration, Vet Center, caregiver support and women's health.

Representatives from the Health Care System will also be on hand.

Refreshments and lunch will be served and there will be activities, games and live music.
