WAVELAND --- Colette Vierling is remembered as a creative mother and, being a New Orleans native, prepared a delicious plate of crawfish.
"We always had crawdads when I came home," said son Edward Roberts Jr. "She was always so easygoing and so easy to please.
"Mom was a true family person. She did things at home, especially crafts," said Roberts. "The joy of her life was her children and especially her three grandchildren. Those three babies got anything they wanted."
He said she enjoyed her church, Our Lady of the Gulf, and enjoyed living on the Coast. "We wouldn't live anywhere else," said Roberts.

"Colette was so considerate and so good to (husband) Jerry, who was losing his sight," said her mother-in-law, Evelyn Reyer. "She was very creative and made me two beautiful calendars that I'll always treasure. They both loved to grow flowers, and Jerry had the green thumb and planted roses just for her."
Colette, 51, was especially thoughtful about birthdays and anniversaries.
"Colette said she already had a gift for our anniversary Dec. 16," Reyer said. "After being together for years, they married July 20. I gave a reception Aug. 20, and they perished on Aug. 29."
