The yard was Charlie Kerr's passion, according to Noll.
"Charlie grew oranges and tangerines," Noll said. "He liked to do yardwork. It kept him busy." Noll was the Kerrs' neighbor for the last four years. They'd go out from time to time, she said, usually to church or out to dinner.
"They were the nicest people in the world," Noll said. "They kept an eye out for me and my kids when my husband was away on business. They reminded me of my grandparents.
"They'll always be together."
