Principal Johnny Crane said Ellis arrived just in time to ensure a senior class.

"She was great," teacher Emily McIntyre said. "She always did her work on time."

Ellis graduated with honors. She will attend Loyola University in New Orleans on an academic scholarship. She plans to major in business.

She settled on her career through a Google search of jobs for people who love to travel. She wants to work in civil aid, which will allow her to travel and help people.

She's looking forward to being in New Orleans for college because of its unique culture and environment.

"College is going to be amazing," she said. "I've actually already met my roommate. I'm so excited."
