Pass Christian student earns National Merit Scholarship
A Pass Christian High School student was recently awarded a National Merit Scholarship.
The National Merit Scholarship program named senior Jennifer C. Arnoult a recipient of a $2,500 scholarship.
Arnoult’s probable career field is special education.
Recipients of $2,500 scholarships were selected by a committee of college admissions officers and high school counselors who reviewed information submitted by finalists and their schools.
Last fall, the highest-scoring participants in each state were named semifinalists.
Candidates were evaluated on academic record, including difficulty level of subjects studied and grades earned; scores from two standardized tests; contributions and leadership in school and community activities; an essay written by the finalist; and the recommendation written by a high school official.
